On Sunday night, reports came out from the California Highway Patrol that Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison was arrested Friday night on suspicion of DUI. ESPN reports (via the CHP’s details on the incident) that Addison was found asleep at the wheel of a Rolls Royce, which was on I-105 westbound, stationary, and blocking traffic. He was taken into jail at 11:36 PT on Friday night, and released within two hours.

We do not yet have further details on the incident, such as Addison’s alleged blood alcohol content.

Addison, an otherwise promising receiver for the Vikings, has now been in trouble with the law twice in the last two summers, both concerning dangerous driving. Last July, Addison was charged with reckless driving after driving 140 mph in an area with a 55 mph speed limit. His plea agreement dismissed the more serious charge in favor of a speeding misdemeanor.

This, of course, comes the same week rookie cornerback Khyree Jackson was killed as a passenger in a Maryland car accident, one in which Maryland State Police believe alcohol was a factor. The Vikings released a statement: “We are aware of Jordan Addison’s arrest this past Friday and are currently gathering more information regarding the incident.”

We will have more to come as details emerge.
