A difficult preseason that saw a season ending injury to the potential future of the franchise and an organizational loss of a beloved teammate has come to an end with the Vikings officially finalizing their 53-man roster.

There were a few suprise cuts that are grabbing headlines for the purple. The top of the list is Kene Nwangwu. The speedster seemed poised to benefit from the leagues new kickoff rules and a solid preseason made most believe he was all but cemented into the final 53, but the team opted to keep just 2 running backs and keep their options open.

After Kene, Bo Richter’s cut is making the most noise with the UDFA having excelled throughout the preseason. Some through he might be Kwesi Adofo-Mensah’s next gem but the Vikings gm is likely hoping he gets through waivers.

We would love to say Lewis Cine‘s cut is a surprise but only due to his first round status.  Cine’s difficult time with the team is finally over.

It will be interesting to see if the team goes waiver hunting as they own the 11th position on the waiver wire and are still in need of corner help.

For now here’s the Vikings official 53.
