Despite a mountain of injury issues and a potential Super Bowl contender in front of them, Tampa Bay made a late defensive stand against the Lions to hold Detroit off and remain unbeaten. The massive Victory should build confidence for a young group that’s coming together nicely under Todd Bowles and their new offensive coordinator Liam Coen.

Her are the numbers that tell the story of the victory.

2 – The Bucs picked off two of Jared Goff’s passes.

1st – The first interception for the Lions occurred on their first offensive play.

61.7 – Despite accumulating 307 passing yards, the Bucs’ secondary held Jared Goff to a 61.7 passer rating.

6 – Chris Godwin had six consecutive catches for 107 yards and a touchdown before any other Buccaneer recorded a single reception. He totaled 117 receiving yards in the game.

68 – Buccaneers players not named Chris Godwin combined for 68 receiving yards.

34 – Baker Mayfield was the Bucs’ leading rusher, as he had 34 rushing yards.

2Two of Baker Mayfield’s rushes went for over ten yards, one of which was an 11 yard touchdown.

11 – In the fourth quarter, the Lions drove the ball to the Bucs’ 11 yard line before a turnover on downs spoiled the go ahead scoring opportunity for Detroit.

247, 178, 69, 12 – Despite the Bucs’ win, the Lions had 247 more total yards of offense, 178 more passing yards, 69 (nice) more rushing yards, and 12 more first downs. Despite the Lions’ productive offense, they only scored one touchdown on…

7seven red zone attempts.

41 – The Bucs’ first possession was heavily aided by a pass interference penalty that cost the Lions 41 yards and put the Bucs at Detroit’s five yard line. The possession ended on a Chase McLaughlin field goal.

5, 39 – The Bucs sacked Jared Goff five times, and those sacks amounted to 39 yards lost.
