One of the Bengals’ biggest stars is likely to be out this week, and the injury could sideline him even longer.

Chase suffered a shoulder injury in the fourth quarter of the game against the Minnesota Vikings on a catch where he helped the Bengals convert a critical 3rd and long. He immediately went to the locker room and returned to the sidelines in street clothes.

Zac Taylor hasn’t ruled the superstar out yet this week, as he’s taking it day to day. However, per Ian Rapoport, his availability is “very much in doubt” for this week and possibly next.

“He’s dealing with a separated shoulder, AC joint sprain. Not considered to be a major, major (injury), but what my understanding is, he’s more week to week than anything else. I would in fact expect him to miss Saturday’s big time game against the Pittsburgh Steelers,” Rapoport said this morning on Good Morning Football.

If Chase is looking to play this week, his chances are not off to a good start, as he did not practice on Tuesday.

If he doesn’t play this week, Jake Browning will still have the rest of his weapons at his disposal. This arsenal includes Tee Higgins, who came to life and scored two touchdowns in the fourth quarter last week, and Tyler Boyd, who made the long reception in overtime that put the Bengals well into field goal range.
