A season that started out so promising for the Miami Dolphins faltered down the stretch. With an  opportunity to walk into the playoffs as the AFC’s most dominant team they not only got destroyed by the Baltimore Ravens but they gave up a three-game divisional lead and fell in the final game of the 2023 season.

Let’s take a look at some of the numbers behind the game that saw Miami’s playoff positioning slip away.

3 – After rushing for just over 100 yards on 17 carries in the first half, as it has too many times, the offensive game plan changed and Miami only ran the ball 3 times in the second half.

0 – Not coincidentally the Miami offense put up 0 points in that second half.

3 – The Dolphins blew a 3 game lead with 5 to play and allowed the Bills to win the division and secure the #2 seed.

11 – Josh Allen has now won 11 out of 13 games he’s played against the Dolphins.

198 – Despite a low scoring, one possession game Buffalo out gained Miami a ridiculous 473 to 275, a difference of 198 yards.

67 – Miami still can’t find an answer for Josh Allen. They allowed a big game through the air but maybe more crucial were the 67 rushing yards he put on the ground.

1st – The defense was able to get to the qb early as Allen’s 1st quarter interception was the 1st redzone turnover of the season for the Bills.

11 –  Miami’s defense has now forced a turnover in 11 straight games.

3 – Tyreek Hill became the 3rd player in NFL history to amass 3 consecutive 110+ receptions.

1799 – Hill has also become the first Dolphin in league history to lead the NFL in receiving yards with 1799 on the season..

4 –  Miami is one of 4 current teams to have produced 4 consecutive winning seasons.
