The Numbers Behind Miami’s Big Win Over Dallas
The “contender or pretender” narrative that has followed the Miami Dolphins throughout the 2023 season may have seen a defining moment on Sunday. After struggling against quality opponents throughout the season, Mike McDaniel’s team got an impressive win against mounting odds. Missing four starters on the offensive line, key parts of their secondary and defensive line, and dealing with a banged up Tyreek Hill Miami put the excuses aside and beat a very good 10 win Dallas team. Although there are certainly things that need improving, the win may serve as a launching point into a successful contention campaign.
Below are some of the numbers that tell the story of Miami’s big victory.

4 – For the 4th straight game, Tua Tagovailoa did not thrown an interception.
227 – Game MVP Jason Sanders’ was 5 for 5 on field goals totaling 227 yards. with three kicks of over 50+ yards which lead to…
1 – Sanders being the one and only player in NFL history to have 6 field goals of 50+ yards in a month.
6 – Continuing his torrid pace, Bradley Chubb collected two more sacks and brought his season total to 11. He is the first Dolphin to amass double digit sacks in 6 years (Cam Wake in 2017).
3 – After hauling in a 50 yard bomb in the first quarter, Jaylen Waddle became the first Dolphin player in team history to have 3 consecutive 1,000 yard seasons.
