While much of the noise surrounding the Miami Dolphins’ is centered on the return of Tua Tagovailoa and the performance of the offense, those who follow the team closely are all talking about the same thing: Chop Robinson.

The rookie edge is breaking out in a big way, and the national media is finally taking notice. On Good Morning Football, Peter Schrager took time to recognize the Dolphins newest defensive playmaker.

“Guess who’s playing really well.” Schrager said. “Chop Robinson out of Penn State for the Miami Dolphins. Chop Robinson was all over the field Sunday against the Patriots. Maybe the best player on the field. What a rookie… Boy what did Anthony Weaver tell us? He feels like this kid is close to a breakthrough. And he is becoming a force for Miami.

This guy had a sack and a half, three quarterback hits, defended two passes. He also had eight quarterback pressures in one game, like he was all over the field.

[He had] the highest pressure rate in a game by a rookie since 2023…Chop Robinson, welcome to the list. We’re going to be hearing a lot about you on Thursday night when… you’ll be in Green Bay. And as a cold weather player from Penn State, I think the weather will not affect Chop Robinson.”

The attention is warranted. Robinson, who was named PFF rookie of the week, leads THE ENTIRE NFL in pressure rate by more than 9% over the last 4 weeks.

For context, the 10 pressures he was credited with in week 12(not the 8 that were listed before stat corrections) is higher than the 9 Lukas Van Ness has ALL SEASON.

It is the season of Chop, and while all eyes are on Tua and the offense, it’s the rookie defenders’ emergence that might not only save this season, but also brighten up their whole future.
