Don’t look now, but here come the Miami Dolphins. In what has been one of the most extreme roller coaster seasons in franchise history, Miami has now ripped off back-to-back wins and sits within striking distance of the final Wild Card spot.

It’s not just Miami fans who believe the team is playing above their current record. Not long after claiming the Las Vegas Raiders win was “The rare NFL game in the middle of a season that I thought could have turned a franchise around,” Colin Cowherd doubled down on Mike McDaniel’s crew and placed them in the top-10 of his Herd Hierarchy.

“Miami is four and six, I don’t care. They’re averaging 28 a game since Tua came back,” the Fox Sports host confidently declared. “They lead conversion rate on third down 61% since Tua [Tagovailoa] came back. 78% completion percentage since Tua came back. Coach and quarterback league, fourth-easiest schedule remaining, they hammered the Rams, should have beaten Buffalo, hammered the Raiders. I don’t care [about the] standings, this is a top-10 team right now. I wouldn’t want to play them. I wouldn’t mind playing him in January in cold weather, but right now, I wouldn’t want to play the Dolphins.”

Ultimately time will tell if Cowherd’s confidence is warranted, but the team’s toughest games (in their easy schedule) are towards the end of the year, and if McDaniel and Tua can build on their recent ascension Miami’s playoff dreams may become a reality.
