After the garbage time injury to Bradley Chubb, the Dolphins added two longtime NFL veteran pass rushers to their roster to help them during their upcoming playoff run.

Houston was drafted by Kansas City in 2011 and spent the first eight seasons of his career there, followed by two year stints in Indianapolis and Baltimore. He then found himself with the Carolina Panthers in 2023, where he had an injury plagued season with only seven games played and 0.5 sacks recorded.

While Houston’s production has understandably faced a slight decline, as Father Time is undefeated, he’s still been a sack machine in his career. Among active players, he is tied for the third most career sacks (112.0). Last season with the Ravens, he was the team leader in sacks.

Bruce Irvin, meanwhile, was a first round pick by Seattle in 2012 and has a Super Bowl ring under his belt. He was with Seattle for the first four years of his career, then he spent three years with the Raiders after that. Since 2020, he’s bounced around the NFC.

Irvin has had steady production throughout his career, logging 56.5 sacks and 16 forced fumbles in his career. Six of those forced fumbles came in his first season with the Raiders, which tied him for the league lead.

The longtime pass rusher spent two games with Detroit in 2023, who are about to embark on a playoff run of their own. He was released by the team on January 3rd.

The two pass rushers are expected to provide veteran help as Miami takes on the defending Super Bowl champion Chiefs in Kansas City on Saturday at 8pm.
