The Numbers Behind the Bucs’ Monday Night Defeat
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers lost more than the game on Monday night, as they fell to the Baltimore Ravens by a 41-31 score. While the offense performed well, they took two major hits, as Mike Evans and Chris Godwin both left the game with various leg injuries. The prognosis for both players remains to be seen, though it’s not looking good for the latter of the two.

What were the numbers that defined the Monday night loss for the Bucs?
1 – Before his exit due to a hamstring injury, Evans had one catch. It was a 25-yard touchdown catch, the 100th of his career, on the Bucs’ opening possession.
43 – Godwin suffered his ankle injury (a potential season-ending dislocation) with 43 seconds remaining in the game. At this point in the game, the Bucs were down by 10, and the injury occurred on the 39-yard line after a 21-yard completion.
3 – Baker Mayfield threw an interception to Marlon Humphrey in the second quarter when the Bucs were on the Ravens’ 3-yard line. It was one of two interceptions that Baker threw in the game, with both coming in the first half, and both caught by Humphrey.
34 – In the second and third quarters combined, the Ravens scored 34 unanswered points on Tampa’s defense.
8, 100 – Cade Otton had eight receptions for 100 yards on Monday, both of which led the team. Both of those numbers are career highs for the third-year tight end.
4 – The Bucs scored 31 points on Monday night, marking the fourth consecutive game in which Tampa Bay scored at least 30 points.
9 – Monday night was the ninth time in which Lamar Jackson and Baker Mayfield faced off against each other in their careers as starters, and the first time Mayfield faced Lamar as a member of the Bucs. Lamar has the clear upper hand in the rivalry, as he has now won seven of the nine matchups against Mayfield.
989 – The Bucs and Ravens combined for 989 total yards of offense on Monday night. The Ravens accounted for 508 of those yards, and it was the second time in the last three games that the Bucs have allowed at least 500 yards of offense in a game. The Bucs’ 481 total yards of offense are the second-most any team has accumulated in a loss in 2024 (the Seahawks racked up 519 yards in a Week 4 loss to Detroit).
226 – The Bucs’ three-headed monster at running back (Rachaad White, Bucky Irving, Sean Tucker) combined for 226 all-purpose yards on Monday night. Rachaad White was the most productive of the three, totaling 111 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns, both of which came via the air.
228 – The Ravens accumulated 228 yards of offense on their four longest plays of the game. Those plays were two passes to Rashod Bateman (59 and 49 yards, respectively) and two runs by Derrick Henry (81 and 39 yards, respectively). Bateman’s 49-yard reception was the only of these four plays that went for a touchdown.

6, 70 – The Ravens’ first touchdown drive, which occurred after the Bucs went up 10-0 in the first quarter, was a six-play, 70-yard drive. Baltimore’s offense was remarkably consistent on that drive, as each offensive play went for 14, 19, 11, 7, 10, and 9 yards, respectively.
10 – Lamar Jackson threw five passing touchdowns to four separate players on Monday night. After allowing only a single passing touchdown in all of September, the Bucs have allowed ten passing touchdowns through three games in October.
