Tampa Bay clinched the NFC South with a 9-0 shutout over the reeling Carolina Panthers. After stifling the Panthers’ offense for the entire afternoon, Tampa Bay has once again clinched a home playoff berth for the 2024 playoffs.

Here are the numbers that define the division-clinching victory for the Bucs.

0 – Tampa Bay’s defense allowed zero points on Sunday.

2010 – Tampa Bay’s victory on Sunday was the first time the Bucs shutout an opponent since 2010, when they beat the 49ers 21-0 on November 21st of that year.

3 – This victory clinched the Bucs their third straight NFC South title.

1 – The Bucs allowed one completion to go longer than 8 yards; it was a 42 yard completion from Bryce Young to D.J. Chark that was fumbled at the one yard line.

427 – Both teams combined for 427 yards of offense on Sunday.

94 – Bryce Young only threw for 94 yards against the Bucs in Week 18; it was the first time he’s thrown for under 100 yards in a game in his career.

6, 51 – Chris Godwin, who had 6 receptions for 51 yards, was the only wide receiver on either team to have more than three receptions in the Bucs-Panthers Week 18 matchup.

2/12 – The Panthers only converted 2 out of their 12 third down attempts against the Bucs on Sunday.

6 – Both teams punted six times on Sunday.

2 – The Bucs forced two turnovers on the Panthers – one on a Bryce Young fumble, and one on a DJ Chark fumble at the one yard line.

25:47 – It took 25 minutes and 47 seconds for either team to score in this game.

5 – The win gave the Bucs their fifth win in their last six games. Their only loss since the beginning of December was to the Saints on New Year’s Eve.

58.2% – The lowest win probability the Buccaneers faced in the entire game was 58.2%; that percentage occurred early in the second quarter.

10 – Both teams combined to punt ten times in the first half. The final five of those ten drives were three-and-out drives.

52 – Panthers kicker Matthew Wright had one field goal attempt on the day from 52 yards out, which he missed wide left.

3 – Chase McLaughlin made all three of his field goal attempts on Sunday, including a season long of 57 yards. He only missed two field goals in the entire season.

28 – Panthers RB Rolando Blackshear scored a 28 yard touchdown in the fourth quarter; however, the touchdown was nullified due to an illegal formation penalty on Carolina.

10 – On the play after the illegal formation penalty, Bryce Young was sacked for a ten yard loss; he fumbled the ball on the sack, and the Bucs recovered.

6:19 – The Bucs maintained possession of the ball for the final 6 minutes and 19 seconds of the game.

4 – Tampa Bay will enter the playoffs as the fourth seed in the NFC – they will square off against the struggling Philadelphia Eagles in the playoffs.
