Tampa Bay put on an offensive show in their home opener, as they trounced all over the Washington Commanders’ defense by a score of 37-20. The strong effort from Baker Mayfield gave Todd Bowles and company momentum as they head to Ford Field to take on the Detroit Lions in Week 2.

What are the numbers that defined the Week 1 win?

146.4 – Baker Mayfield, who completed 24 out of 30 passes for 289 yards and four touchdowns, had a passer rating of 146.4.

182Rachaad White and Bucky Irving combined for 182 all purpose yards.

4.8 – Irving averaged 6.9 yards per carry, while Rachaad White averaged 2.1 yards per carry, giving Irving 4.8 yards per carry more than White in Week 1.

1 – Due to the Buccaneers’ strong offensive performance, Jake Camarda only had one punt, which took place in the third quarter.

2 – The aforementioned drive was only one of two Tampa Bay offensive drives that did not result in a score. The other of these two drives took place at the end of the game when Kyle Trask knelt twice to run out the clock.

9 – Of the 13 offensive plays that took place for the Bucs’ on third down, Tampa Bay converted nine of them.

88 – Washington’s Jayden Daniels was the game’s leading rusher, as he rushed for 88 yards and two touchdowns against Tampa Bay’s run defense.

7Chase McLaughlin made all seven of his kicks; he converted all four of his extra point attempts and all three field goal attempts. His first field goal went for 56 yards.

21Mike Evans had two receiving touchdowns in the season opener; it was the 21st game in which Evans has caught multiple touchdowns. He ranks second among active NFL players in multi touchdown games, only trailing Davante Adams (23).

32 – Jalen McMillan caught one pass in his NFL debut – a 32 yard touchdown.

8, 83Chris Godwin led all receivers in the game with 8 receptions and 83 yards, to go along with a touchdown in the third quarter.

7 – Each team committed seven penalties in the game; Washington accumulated 51 penalty yards and Tampa Bay accumulated 46.
