The odds were stacked against the Cleveland Browns before Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens began. Deshaun Watson’s shocking inactive status due to a shoulder injury he suffered last week against the Tennessee Titans proved to be insurmountable. Dorian Thompson-Robinson’s first start ended in a 28-3 blowout with the offense completely incapable of getting anything started. With the burden of carrying a non-existent offense, the defense melted down after a great start to the season.

Here are some important numbers from the difficult loss to the Ravens:

35 – The number of losses the Browns have against the Ravens since they returned to the NFL in 1999. Over 48 games played, the Ravens lead 35-13 all time.

21.3 – The difference between the average points scored by the Browns’ offense through the first three games, and the three points the DTR-led offense scored in Week 4.

1.8 – The average yards per attempt DTR threw for.

48 – Yards lost by DTR via sacks.

80 – Number of sacks Myles Garrett has acquired through 88 games as an NFL player. It’s second-fastest ahas accumulated 80 sacks in eague history.

10 – The Browns allowed 28 points to the Ravens, 10 more than they had allowed on the whole season entering Sunday.

4/4 – The Ravens made four trips to the red zone and came away with four touchdowns.  Two through the air and two ran in by Lamar Jackson

8 – Penalties committed by the Ravens, totaling 92 free yards for the Browns — yet the Browns only scored three points.

9 – The number of Browns’ players that caught a pass during the game.

7David Njoku’s targets throughout the game, most by any Browns player.

88 – Total number of yards the Baltimore defense gained via DTR’s three interceptions

The early bye week that most fans complained about when the schedule was released now seems to come at the perfect time. An extra week off will allow Cleveland to get healthy and potentially assess their backup situation going forward. With one of their biggest showdowns of the year coming in Week 6 against the San Francisco 49ers, Cleveland needs to get right and get ready for a game that could define their path for the season.
