Wake Up, New Blackhawks Winter Classic Jerseys Dropped
Winter (Classic) is coming. And with the game coming to Wrigley Field, we knew that a new set of Chicago Blackhawks uniforms were on the way. Today’s the day they dropped, and we got our first look at how the Hawks will look when they take the ice in front of the ivy on New Year’s Eve.
Two teams, two historical cities.

While most outdoor game jerseys have callbacks to the past of a franchise’s uniforms, the Blackhawks went in a direction that’s a fairly clean break from the past. The closest parallel is probably the barberpole jerseys of the ‘40s, with a decidedly more modern take on the striping. The Blackhawks crest logo makes a return, which makes it the fourth time they’ve gone back to that well for an outdoor game or reverse retro. Not that we’re complaining.
The C/Tomahawk logo on the arms is very fresh with the white and black-striped backdrop looking very striking. Honestly, it’d make for a heckuva front side of a jersey if the Blackhawks ever wanted to get adventurous. But for playing it relatively safe, they made some sharp-looking threads that should look good on the ice. The contrast with the cream St. Louis sweaters should look nice, as well. It’ll be a big matchup for fans of old-school-looking jerseys.
